Does anyone know anything about modifying the medal tray

-> Adding more medals
-> Replacing medals in the Tray

I saw something a while ago in one of the VP folders, but that may not help much.

The medal case is probably something like the mainhall, just check in the interface vps.

Oh... Cause I found this in the sparky_hi folder, but if tampering with the folder won't affect it then I guess this may not help much. Heck, I'll put it up anyhow.

Uhh you have to extract and edit the FILE not the folders.

That is the file yes, but you don't just mess with the file in the VP or BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN.
You have to extract it, and all the medal files, then edit them...probably have to edit the Mask too (for the rollovers).

Take the Good Conduct Medal from FS1, and add it to the FS2 medal tray?
So i'd have the original FS2 Medal Set plus the Medal from FS1.

Adding Laurels (Recieving a medal 5 time) is easy. I'm cutting the Laurel Wreath from the FS2 Medal of Valour and adding that to the medal ribbon. It's then a simple matter of medal.tbl

I subbed out a couple nebula's just a while ago. It worked just fine, but the nebula's didn't look like I thought they would. It's not to hard, but I'm not the one that wants the medal case to be edited. That may be twice as hard. I'm not going to try though. I don't want to have to re-download the whole thing just cause I screwed up a file.

As I recall there's a prohibition on increasing the number of medals commented into the relevant table. You should be able to change the existing medals though.

Just take the medal you want and extract it from the VP folder. Then take the medal you extracted and put it into the sparky_hi folder under interface. Then build the VP folder with VPMage. You may need to delete a medal from the sparky_hi folder. The reason to this is when I tried to put to many nebula's in, it gave me an error and crashed both FRED and FS.

NOTE: Make a copy of the sparky_hi folder, just incase you screw it up. Then you can delete the folder you modified if it is screwy. I havn't tested this, but it worked for me when I replaced some nebula's into the sparky folder. If it doesn't work don't blame me, please.

Hmm, i suppose i can always think edit out of two of the planned medals from my list.

I originally, but two of them are ultra speciallist...So they can go. Now it shout jut be a matter of replacing Certain medals.

The Purpose of my question was so i could Restore  the Medals to the TBP. I had a list of 17 deffenent medals. However, I can have now decideed to cut two of them as they were more Land based.
I'll be modifying the Ace So that all three pips take up one slot on the Tray.

The Fun part will be redoing the Flight wings and The rank insignia

I haven't played TBP. Sorry if I wasn't a huge help. But it's pretty much the same idea all around. Just export and place them in the proper folder.
