In Bomber/Intercepter/Space superiority Fighters I always have at least 1 Bank of tempest, they just own :>
Well, as extra normally a bank of Harpoons against fighters, rarely a trebuchet, in some campaign missions the EMP-missile (2nd to last for example) is quite strong - instant "kill" against a whole bomber wing :>
As primary subachs/maxim or kayser/prometheus (suffer from very high energy usage on higher difficulties)
The only weapon(s) so far that seemed really useless are:
Rockeye - I never hit anything with them, and you only got so few of them...
Lamprey - Well, nice to see the AI slow down, but use a better primary instead and just kill him..
Inferno - Might be quite useful if it was just a little faster, you cant hit anything with this missile :/
Tag B - come on, 6s reload time? Normal missiles kill in this time basically 2 fighters! The Tag A is more useful..
The advantages of the different missiles imho:
Tempest: Superior in close combat against fighter/bombers and quite usefull against capships.
Harpoon: Very useful against Fighters.
Hornet: They look cool! Good for Wingmens, are realible sniping of certain very important turrets. Nice burstfire, but also emptied very fast, and you dont hit fighters beyond normal difficulty.
Tornado: A mix of Harpoon and Hornet, still suffers from low loadout, but at least they often hit fast targets.
Stiletto II: Superior against Subsystems, high range and doesnt even need target lock - unfortunately interceptable.
Piranha: Helpful weapon to distract enemy Fighters when flying a heavy Bomber.
Trebuchet: Well, high range, high firepower, low loadout, but completely useless in close combat
EMP: Bomber killer against the AI (they will normally start to tail you in my experience), fast target lock, high velocity, medium range
Tag A: If you manage to hit a dragon near an allied capship it probably is the best available weapon, as those dragons are to fast to get a full volley of tempests. However, the useability is just too narrow.
