[REQUEST/IDEA] Cockpit in HUD?
Hey, I've started playing FS2open recently, and I was just wondering whether anybody had considering creating a cockpit mod, as an addition to the current HUD?

In my opinion, it would greatly increase the feeling of immersion, and make you more fully aware of the ship you are in.

Is there a specific reason why no-one's attempted to create a mod such as this? Lack of interest/too many ships?

Sorry if this question has been asked a lot before, I did use the search function, but I couldn't find any discussion of creating cockpits in the HUD since about 2005, and they didn't tell me anything about any cockpits in the works - they were mainly discussions on how cockpits were viewed externally.

Wow, that is pretty much exactly what I described. Thanks for the info, I'll keep my eyes open on this mod.

Does anyone know what's happened to it? Whether it's going to be included in future FS2open releases?

i put the scripts for that mod up, unfortunately they only work with one particular (seriously outdated) build

Just hack the tables and put 'show ship' in the flags. however, this will be crappy.

probably not if the capability for rtt hasn't been worked on in the code. ive seen rtt working in precisly 2 builds, and in neither it worked bug free.
