I'd just like to mention an update on something.
As some folks may remember that I had to take time off the FS project
to study for my GED, which got pushed to the side as we had the
Tournament come up, and then I went back into studying again for it
and almost didn't make the last test appointments in December.
Well I got the test scores in today.
To give you a bit of an idea how these tests are setup.
A GED is a 7 hour battery of 5 subjects, and each subject is broken into two parts.
Except in the case of English and Math, each test is 50 questions.
The other two have an essay and more questions.
The maximum score a person can earn on an individual test within the GED battery is
800. The minimum score is 200. The maximum total test score is 4000 points. A score
of 800 puts the student in the top 1% of graduating high school seniors. Students must earn
a minimum score of 410 on each of the five tests, as well as an overall average of 450 or above to pass.
So my scores are....
Subject / score / percentile
Language Arts, Writing / 690 / 97 (top 3%)
Science / 650 / 93 (top 7%)
Social Studies / 800 / 99 (top 1%)
Language Arts, Reading / 760 / 99 (top 1%)
Mathematics / 610 / 86 (top 14%)
Total: 3510
Average 702
Not quite a perfect score... but pretty darn close
So if you're out there slaving away over a book, in class, or otherwise, know that it'll
pay off eventually. Ask the Lord for help and you'll get through it.
