Are there any homemade missions that can help new players get better at wing/dog fighting?  I'm having a terrible time right now in the vanilla campaign.  I thought about designing something myself but I currently know nothing about FRED.  Thanks@!

Best training available is probably to play multi, or at least certain multi missions. The gauntlets in particular are little more than one long dogfighting exercise, and you can easily play them (though not necessarily win them) on your own by running a LAN game. You miss out on being able to ask other players for advice that way, but it is still good practise.

<Cobra|> You play this mission too intelligently.

Try turning down the difficulty? No shame in that.

Are you sure?

Joking, but yes, the gauntlet missions were basically designed for you to practice dogfighting (come to think of it, according to the briefing they were weren't they?)

They're also good fun for when you need a break
