Volition vs. DICE in the Escapist's 2009 March Mayhem
Right now, Volition's former and current greatness is being embarrassed by one game: Mirror's Edge.

Since it's legal and smart to advertise these match-ups, I'm hoping that all of you Volition fans will rise up and help sway the tide against DICE. Even if you don't really contribute any other way than casting your vote, we need to show what happens when an overrated game faces a cult fanbase head-on. An unstoppable force meets a very movable object. Parkour doesn't really hold up well when faced with the best space simulation ever, not to mention Volition's recent creations of Red Faction and Saint's Row.

I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong forum.

This has been only half a day's voting bounty. The other half of today and all of tomorrow will be our voting bracket. If we don't push Volition over the top by that time, we'll lose.

What are the consequences of an eventual loss like?

Why, if we lost, our honor would be stripped away from us for one more year. Do we wish to suffer such a fate?

I'd have to play other videogames besides Freespace to honorably vote.

And that is not something I am willing to do.

Eh, it's kinda late anyhow. Volition was beaten by double the votes, regardless of how much support we pulled in. Stupid DICE, making games that demonstrate how fashionable running between buildings is. *Pouts for the next year*

Re: Volition vs. DICE in the Escapist's 2009 March Mayhem
I don't get it.

Is it inconceivable that Volition could make a game subjectively worse than some other game developer company? :nervous:

I haven't played games from DICE, therefore I'm not going to vote. I trust Volition can take care of themselves.

There are three things that last forever: Abort, Retry, Fail - and the greatest of these is Fail.

I love how everyone uses March Madness as like a free idea/traffic increase.

We should have done one with ships or something, just to bow down to peer pressure

Guys, I already said that the chances of Volition winning are dead. We can all stop now.

A lock on this topic would be preferable.
