I'm sort of a newbie at this, but here goes:

This is the hull for a ship design I've been thinking about.  It's called the GTFg (frigate) Archon, and it is the Terran's newest and most potent weapon.  While not a full-fledged destroyer, the frigate still packs a punch, and with its underside fighterbay it can transport and deploy several wings of fighters in the field.  The hull is complete, but it needs armament, texturing, pathing, and conversion, and I am not sure that I am up to the task.  Let me know what you all think.

While it was loading the first two pics aren't very flattering but overall once the others loaded I could see all the views and it came together. I reminds me a little of the Deimos(sp?) class and the bridge like the white ships from gundum. As for not being much compared to a destroyer? well having Several(?) wings of fighter in your hold definately offsets the lack of a few turrents!!! Kudos to you can can't wait to see what you do with it..

  I have an idea for my future mod (pipe dream lol) a carrier class of vessels (remember the Yamato and the Black Tiger squadron?) but not overboard like the colossus... a GTVFB (Fighter Base)?

Yes, the model is a lot like the Deimos, just bigger.  That little inset in front of the bridge is intended to be crew quarters, and the numerous indentions visable from the aft pespective shot are for the engines-this ship is supposed to be as fast as a corvette but more powerful.

Yes it does look Deimosiysh.  Not bad. I'd like to see that texture (hopefully with a bit less deimosiysh texs).

And Ten, where do you think the commodore commands his deimos. From the hangar bay perhaps?

I think it would be a terribly good idea to change the ship name to something other than that of the title uberweapon in TAC. Just a suggestion.

I rebuilt it in truespace 1 (sad, I know) and textured it.  It's still rough, as you can see by the thruster distortion, but I hope to get that fixed whenever I can get my hands on a newer version of Truespace.

BTW, any similarity in name is purely coincidental.  The name is tenative anyway; I will alter it accordingly when it gets finished and I have a better idea of what it will do.  Besides, there are only so many names from mythology/history that can be used for ship names in keeping with Volition's style.
