Anyone know how to disable the feature that makes the backspace key go back in the thread listings?

You've just gotta click on a text box. I ****ing hate when I'm typing something, press backspace to delete a mistake and end up about 9 pages back.

I suppose you could remap you're keyboard somehow to stop it.

You cant disable it... but going forward (shift+backspace) should take you back to the posting screen with your text still in the box.

if you're in a text box, backspace shouldnt do that.  its never done that to me, there may be something wrong with your comp

That only happens to me when I do not have the text box selected and I type backspace. The problem is that your post usually gets erased if this happens and you go forward again.

There is a more annoying problem with IE though; whenever a window crashes or performs an illegal operation (which they frequently do) and you "force close" it using the ctrl-alt-del method, all open IE windows close as well. This can really get maddening at times, since I tend to have over ten windows open simultaneously, especially when visiting forums.

yeah, but there's always all sorts of craps on your desk, and one always pushes, say, you tab key, so it happens to me too quite often. Anyway, when I push forward, the text hasn't been erased.

Ditto, I've never had it a problem.

Besides, I mostly write my posts up in notepad unless they're small.
