Re: Hard Light Array Renders
I remember having all of these as wallpapers at one point..
Fun while it lasted.

Then bitter.

Re: Hard Light Array Renders
Hmm, there are even some in there that are not in the official array :) Nice collection.

Wow, amazing pics!

What campaign are those amazing pics from where you can fly on the planets surface?

Re: Hard Light Array Renders
They're renders, my friend. Not screenshots. None of it is in-game.

You can get graphics nearly that good in some areas using the MediaVPs, but renders aren't, er, rendered in real-time, so you can put a lot more detail into them.

Re: Hard Light Array Renders
Most All of the models used in these renders are stock retail, the mediavps are arguably better by far.

Re: Hard Light Array Renders
Very much true. The lighting and bloom-esque effects, however, are not going to happen in FSOpen for a while.

Planet surface missions could very well happen, but at the moment they're probably not going to look quite that good (though a very large model and a skybox might accomplish it...)

Re: Hard Light Array Renders
Was just double checking because I did see some people talking about planet missions so I thought I missed something lol.

That reminds me - why isn't bloom already implemented in the MVPs?

Re: Hard Light Array Renders
Because it's more complicated then just implementing it, and it requires HDR AFAIK.
