Editing VP files

I'm wanting to modify a few of the tables in certain VP files, but how do you import modified files to them?  Alterations made to the table files using VPView 2.0 don't save after editing them with notepad.

You don't.

You extract them to /<yourmod>data/tables, then edit it, then select <yourmod> in the mod tab of the launcher to run it.

The tables won't be packed back into the VP. As Droid said, extract them and leave them as text files.
