Re: Balls of Steel: Iran clerics defy election ruling
Well, I think the situation has been summed up quite clearly, and as such the only thing the outside world can do now is wait and watch.

Any state that must resort to making examples of people with brutal torture or execution in order to stay in power has definitely lost its legitimacy.  Before the world decides on a course of action, we should wait until we know what really happened in the election.  If it comes to a revolution, I would like to see the U.S. back the progressive elements in Iran. I do not think military intervention would be wise, but arms procurement and fiscal support would be in order.

It's scary how quickly things went haywire there.

And on the topic of nuclear weapons... AFAIK the Iranian government has not yet succeeded in building a true nuclear bomb.  Correct me if I'm wrong, though.  Haven't seen anything about an Iranian nuclear test.
<Nuclear>   truth: the good samaritan actually checked for proof of citizenship and health insurance
<Axem>   did anyone catch jesus' birth certificate?
<Nuclear>   and jesus didnt actually give the 5000 their fish...he gave it to the romans and let it trickle down
<Axem>and he was totally pro tax breaks
<Axem>he threw out all those tax collectors at the temple
<Nuclear>   he drove a V8 camel too
<Nuclear>   with a sword rack for his fully-automatic daggers

Esarai: hey gaiz, what's a good improvised, final attack for a ship fighting to buy others time to escape to use?
RangerKarl|AtWork: stick your penis in the warp core
DarthGeek: no don't do that
amki: don't EVER do that

Well if this leads civil war, any nuclear capability is far worse than no nuclear capability. :/

Maybe we will see them nuke themselves, then we can make a agreement with China to half the oil.

It's scary how quickly things went haywire there.

It wasn't quick though, the things they are revolting against have been in place for a while.  It was just at a simmer. and now it's about to boil over because of what the "leadership" attempted to do to keep they're grasp on power.

Sad to say it may come to blows in America soon rather than later. :sigh:

Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

Yeah, no.

After eight years of that **** with no real insurrection the worst we can expect is more right-wing nutjobs blowing up buildings to protest taxes or something.

Remember eight years of "Protesters are nothing but unemployed college students mooching off mom and dad"?

Now it's "Protesters are the second coming the American Revolution"?

DISSENT IS PATRIOTISM!*

*note: dissent is only patriotism when protesting the policies of the Democratic Party. For protesting against Republican Party see: treason.
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

That's definitely quote-worthy.  Well done.
