Well, here i go again...
well, after months of crap and issues I have finally fixed my computer.  And made an arwing to boot!  I'm uploading it in cob, dxf, and gmax formats with a bmp texture map.  Unfortunately i still can't get the map to load.  If anyone wants to give it a shot, here are the files.  I must now submit myself to the slavedrivers known as "college professors". *shudders*  i hate calculus.....

Well i now have an intelligent question....maybe...   Are there any programs that allow you to paint a model directly?

Blender

Re: Well, here i go again...
There used to be another program that let you, but never found the results very good.  In the end you will need some form of uvmap.

unfortunately i've neverbeen able to figure the mapping texturing part out.  heck, i think getter robo has helped me out a lot more than i remember.  i'll give blender another shot but i honestly dont know if i'll get it to work.

Re: Well, here i go again...
Possibly your best bet is to use projection painting. In this example they used a Firefly from Serenity.

The direct paint tools would work best with a tablet, and because it's not organic you will end up using it as base to texture over in photoshop.
