Question about using sound assets
Hi - I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the legal situation is with the sound and music assets from Freespace 2.  I realize the source code has been released for limited usage, but I am not sure about the game's media.  What I hope to do is add the game's sounds/music to animations I make in 3ds Max and such.  Distribution of the movies would be free from my website, and I would give full credit to the game's makers for the sound assets.

Wondering if that would be legal, as I prefer to respect copyright law  :)

Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Question about using sound assets
Game's media and IP is technically property of Interplay and falls under the Freespace license.

But practically? Go ahead and do whatever you want with them. It's considered Fair Use.
