:lol:

Steak, I leave out the scary bits. I leave out the stuff that makes the heart thump and causes the strangled cries of shock and horror to claw their way out of your throat INCH BY INCH.

Oh, by the way, you wanna know fear? Try jacking the difficulty some. I keep it 'Normal'. Oh and don't ever touch the optional configuration settings like the weapon degradation rate or the respawn rate. You don't know fear until you've experienced this:
[list=1]
  • swagger around a corner
  • get a rumbler's attention
  • retreat to a safe distance
  • wait for the rumbler to charge down the corridor at you
  • start unloading anti-personnel rounds into it
  • click your mouse to drop the last couple of rounds into the rumbler
  • hear two things simultaneously: the rumbler's friends behind you come to give you a hug AND 'Weapon Jammed.' in the dulcet tones of Terry Brosius.

At that moment--surrounded by the angry altered remains of your shipmates, holding a broken assault rifle, boxed in--you know fear. You can read about it. You can imagine it. But you can't KNOW until its your virtual avatar in that position. Trust me. Its a 'we need 15min to change our shorts' situation.
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]
