If you don't know this is a quiet little sci-fi show on sunday nights on ABC about a group of 8 astronauts on a grand tour of the solar system.  The science isn't unreasonably out there as the show is only 50ish years in the future, the only gripe I have is that there seems to be some form of instantaneous communication as there is no time lag 9 episodes in and the ship is 38 million kilometers away from Earth on approach to Venus.  I won't reveal the plot as it has unfolded up until now, but if the current development stays on track then this is shaping up to be a decent 2 or 3 season long arc show.

As I understand it, it's a co-production with CBC in Canada and is airing there about week ahead of the States.

Anyway, I urge you to check it out on Hulu.com and if you like it drop ABC a line on they're feedback page and ask them to not end this great program.

BTW, make a separate thread if we wanna talk about this show directly, so that spoilers stay off this thread for anyone reading it.

From the couple commercials and first few minutes of the show that I saw, it looks like it will be a total soap opera, which just happens to involve astronauts for no reason.

Well, unlike real astronauts who are thoroughly and meticulously tested(usually) for any potential psychological problems, every single one of the crew are virtual basketcases.  It get's better later on as more is revealed about the nature of they're mission and some other stuff.  This is Sci-Fi like most of us like it, heavy on the characterization with a side of good effects and believable events within the world the story is set.  Similar to BSG, this is shaping up to be a (somewhat) thought provoking drama that just happens to be set in a science fiction environment.
