Author Topic: Corrupt Pilot File?  (Read 1678 times)

Hi, I've been a fan of FS2 for awhile now but only recently signed up at this forum (i'm working on some ship models that I hope to release soon)

Anyways, I believe my pilot file has become corrupted, in that the game crashes every time I select it on the start up screen.  I'm playing the Derelict campaign at the moment, but I'm nearly 100% sure it's not the campaign that's doing it as I've already searched up the problem to no avail (and I've reinstalled the campaign already just to check).  Creating a new pilot works fine, but I really, really don't want to start the entire campaign over, and much rather continue using the profile I have been using for the last few years.

So, is there any tool or way to fix my crashing pilot file?  Or am I screwed?  I already tried opening the pl2 and cs2 files in notepad but it's just some encrypted gibberish that I can't decode.  I'm running build 3.6.10 btw, no mods other than Derelict.

Once they are corrupt that's it.

You should not use a pilot file for more then one mod.  Switching mods will eventually result in corruption.  Create a new pilot for each mod.
No-one ever listens to Zathras. Quite mad, they say. It is good that Zathras does not mind. He's even grown to like it. Oh yes. -Zathras
