UVmapper (classic is free) it has a few tutorials. But i've not had a chance to get to grips yet.

So... I use Blender for this stuff, should I check some other programs? (asking to someone that used blender for UV'ing and has some experience with some other stuff as well).

That's the whole positive of free stuff. It doesn't hurt to try

If you prefer it, you can stay with it.  If you don't, then you won't have lost any money

You'll actually find Blender's uv tool being used by other platforms, under the name Roadkill.
