Terminal Velocity ships in FS2
After having searched for topics on this (all are extremely old) I found that this had been done a while ago. Well I wish to have the player ship and all the other ai ones for use in FS2. Dunno why I didn't try this ages ago lol, I've had both games for over a decade now.

Google helped me find out how to get at the models and textures from the .pod files and export them (didn't think photoshop would open .raw but it does so that helps)

I don't care about remaking them (though if someone has that would be good) I would just like to get them into a .pof
I have the sounds too and have made replicas of TV's weapons. Now I would like to get the fighters. I'm not sure what to do now though, BinEdit doesn't seem to save the .obj with a proper .mtl or whatever so it's just an untextured .obj, so I can't simply save-as to .cob with 3d exploration then use POF-CS to import.

Anyway, anyone who has does this or something like it, help plox?

How about Fury3 too?

I'd do that if I had that game, but anyway I should also say I'd like to do this so I can use planet landscape models to try to simulate TV gameplay.

Holy **** people actually remember Terminal Velocity?
I wish I could get it to work... Nevermind getting it working was ez-pz, much fun.
Fury3 I've never had the chance to see, but I'd like to.

Yes and I still play it sometimes even now :P (you can get it to work with DOSBox)

But, this does not help me get it's fighters into FS2 >_<

Re: Terminal Velocity ships in FS2
does anyone have the manual? are there any images in there? that could be used to model the ships

alternatively a long winded way would be to play the game and take screen grabs

I used to do this, and I managed to get a lot of ships from TV, Fury3, and Hellbender into FS2.  You'll need to save the meshes in VRML format, which will preserve the UV.  Then you'll have to go into Blender to combine the objects (b/c it's split by texture) and search for non-manifold meshes.

Believe it or not, the EAB Aetna used by Inferno is based off of the concept for the player's ship from Hellbender.  Another ship, the EAF Siope (EA stealth fighter) is based off of the concept for the player's ship from Fury3.**

**All meshes used by Inferno is made from scratch by the Inferno Team, although we've drawn inspirations from many sci-fi games, including those made by TR.

Hang on, I've played the demo of Fury3. A long time ago, though.

Re: Terminal Velocity ships in FS2
The shapes are fairly simple, it should not be hard to simply fire up TV or Fury3 and make outright copies.

I'd be more interested in seeing some of the music show up, though.

I knew the shape was familiar when I finally saw the Fury intro.

Indeed.

Re: Terminal Velocity ships in FS2
don't forget the ships from F-zone! for fury3 (the Fury3 add on)...

Also, I believe there's a way of playing the fury3 missions in TV and the contrary also (given the close proximity of the games): this involves switching the .POD files in which the levels are kept...

I can listen to this and blow up Zods all day.  Who knows - - - maybe this music will find its way into a Zod mission somewhere down the line; good music is a terrible thing to waste.

Re: Terminal Velocity ships in FS2
I can get the music and sounds in for TV-style surface battle levels. Remaking the ships would be nice yes, but like I said retail would work too (yeah they would be, well quite low quality, but hey they are from 1995)

If ppl could use screenshots I could get those too. Even better I could get some video clips, seeing as each world shows you what you will fight (I think).

I have blender, though I don't have much use for it lol, perhaps I will now...will see what I can do with it.
I wanna do this in FS2 :P

Re: Terminal Velocity ships in FS2
I actually have a partial higher-quality rip of Fury3's soundtrack and the original .mods from TV somewhere. I'll have to dig them out.

Yeah I remember that happening as well.  Are you trying to export the protagonist's ship?  If so, then I'm afraid that you can't - - not through VRML at least.  The exporter works on other ships pretty well.  And BTW, once you do get it exported, BinEdit screws up the texture normals on the mesh, so you will have to spend some time fixing them so all normals point outward.

Re: Terminal Velocity ships in FS2
Yes the player ship (TV-202 i think). Without that I wouldn't want to bother...so how now?
Well even if I got it into blender (downloaded to try this, never actually used it before >_<)...combine objects, search for non-manifold meshes, and now fix so normals point outward? Going to need help with that.
