2940! 3174! No, they're not dates...
...but they're in the ships.tbl, and they don't seem to do anything besides add 1 for each "XSTR()". :confused:

Those numbers are localization tags. They have corresponding entries in tstrings.tbl. They're used for translating FS2 messages/text to other languages.
