tvtropes can tropify everything. And FS was pretty original.

I dunno about original. Quality, in some respects, but FS1 did nothing new narratively whatsoever.

Who cares that its standard.
Its the execution that counts, and Freespace executes it pretty damn near perfectly (for me at least).
