This neutrino flavor doesn't sound as tasty as the other ones. :(

Pardon my ignorance, but why would this be?  The article doesn't appear to explain at all.

That would take a hell of a lot of these sterile neutrinos to explain all of the dark matter.  As far as we can tell currently, "regular" neutrinos only account for 0.3% of the total mass/energy-density of the cosmos, while dark matter is a whopping 25%.  Might help explain some of the dark matter though, sure.
