Hello, I'm new here.  I browsed through the other topics on this subject, but none of them seemed to have answers for my question.

I have been having issues with getting X52 (not pro) to work properly in freespace 2.  I've tried it with having joystick enabled and disabled in the launcher.  What happens is that when I enter into a training mission, I keep spinning for a while.  The buttons and controls seem to work for a random amount of time before the Joystick stops responding to any button presses, and just regular joystick functions take over (forcing me to use the in-game controls).

I am running Windows 7 x64, and have tried it with both fs2_open_3_6_12d_INF.exe and "_12r_", but the same thing seems to happen.  I've tried calibrating the joystick through the launcher, but after the first attempt, the calibration did not recognize any of the buttons on the x52.  I've tried expanding the deadzones for the joystick, but that doesn't seem to have any affect.  I looked inside the joystick, and there are no damaged wires...

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know how your setup differs from mine (aside from I have the Pro model) but one thing I know:

Win 7, Standard windows drivers and calibration. No additional Saitek software installed. At all.

Works just fine. I don't have full on functionality (the slider, "mouse" stick, scroll wheel 2 buttons and the rotational trim controls on the Throttle body don't bind at all) but everything on the Stick itself works just fine.
