No TAG missiles in 'A Game of TAG' mission.
Hi,

I have a weird problem, where I don't get any TAG-A missiles in the FS2 mission 'A Game of Tag'.
It's strange, because I played the mission maybe a week ago, but I stopped since the Lucidity kept dying on me. Today I thought I'd give it another go, but for some reason I now don't have any secondary weapons in the mission. To my knowledge I havn't changed a thing since last I played, when it worked just fine.

I'd go for pilot corruption. Try again with a fresh new pilot.

Hm, but then I'd have to play every mission up until then again, right?

EDIT: I can upload my pilot file - if anyone can check if they have the same problem in that mission with my pilot file, it'd be really helpful.

To avoid having to play the campaign all over again, you can go to the techroom, to the mission simulator, then press ctrl shift s to have all the missions come up. You'd have to repeat the procedure for every mission thereafter though.

I see a few odd things in the log, (most noticeably it saying that ships.tbl is invalid), but I don't know what to make of it, I'm inexperienced with these things. I'll let one of the SCP guys come along and handle it.

Hm, I tried making a new pilotfile, going to the mission simulator in the tech room and pressing ctrl+shift+s but nothing happened.

Also, I don't know if that error you're seeing is because I'm only using some of the mediavps, namely the 3613_Update.vp, MV_Assets.vp, MV_Effects.vp andMV_RadarIcons.vp. I tried running the game both with all mediavps as well as mediavps disabled entirely, but the problem persists.

But thanks for the help. I'll appreciate it if you ask one of the SCP guys to take a look at this. :)

EDIT:
Ah, ctrl+shift+s does work indeed - I must've pressed ctrl+alt+s or something at first.
Anyhow, creating a new pilot and loading the mission from the mission simulator did away with the problem. Curiously, so did restarting the campaign with the pilotfile I've been using all along - so it wouldn't appear to be a corruption in my pilotfile would it?

EDIT2:
Also, just earlier today I tried running with the most recent nightly build. Could that be what caused it, even if I switched back to 3.6.12?

EDIT3:
Before I restarted the campaign with my pilotfile, I made a backup. With that backup I tried suiciding five times to advance to the next mission. The next mission is screwed up as well, it seems.
I'm guessing my only option is to restart the campaign. Is there any way to skip the missions (another key-combination perhaps?) until I get to 'A Game of TAG'? I'd rather not have to go through the task of suiciding my way through all the missions, and I'd rather not play them in the mission simulator either.
Or is there at least some simple way to suicide?

Why don't you have MV_Root? Pretty sure the MediaVPs don't work without it. And its filesize is tiny.

That strange, because MV_Root.vp is sitting right in my mediavps_3612 directory. And the mediavps work just fine.

where is your mv_assets?
I'm not using the mv_assets.vp.

That may be part of the problem. The 3613 Update VP broke the ability of the MVPs to run with just the root file.

However I'm still smelling pilot file corruption here. That problem will soon be a thing of the past.

Yes, I had problems with the 3613 Update VP before, so I am not using it any longer.

Anyhow, I restarted the campaign, and suicide-skipped my way up to 'A Game of TAG', and that seemed to fix it. :)

Well that's really bloody odd.
