I just started on a new campaign and everything worked fine until now! Everytime I input a new ship in the tbl file it doesn't appear in FRED. I've already got a new one with VPVIEW but that didn't help...

Does anyone know whats going on?

You sure it's rewritting the tbl right? Sometimes things say they've been overwritten when in fact they haven't.

1) Did you close and relaunch Fred2 after changing the table?
2) Did you save the table in plain text format?
3) Is it in the tables folder?

Is ships.tbl larger than 380 KB? If so, download the smaller ships.tbl from here and add the ships to it.

And the new tbl file didn't help either.

your absolutly sure its their? Because even if theirs something horrably wrong, the game will still read that table... even if that table is an image it will still read it (then crash)

Thanks for the help you guys but I got it now. I can't believe how simple it was... The Tbl file was saved in the TEMP directory because I opened it from a zip and I used "save" instead of ""Save as..."
