Haarrr...Ooh, I loved that game.. I have it installed. And yes, it would be so awesome to have something like that.

I actually started on some mini-project of mine, to make starships that can be put into similar games (unfortunately, the CFW native format is a mistery, so I can't add ships there).

At this juncture, I'm making some CFW-inspired ships for Star Wolves 3.







 (Yes, LoGH and Macross were also inspirations!)

II may not be Trashman but as a modeler I can definitely say you should give Wings3D a try. Its almost lack of a UI (aside from right clicks) is awesome.

Uhh, I hate to say it but I never used any tutorials so I don't know what to suggest besides the ones on the wings3d.com website.

Just search the web, there are tons of Wings tutorials (most of them deal with making character models, but there are also ones that don't).
