If you dont know what a Taiidan is, shame on you and go play Homeworld.

I've been playing the Homeworld series again and was disappointed that there was barely a mention of the Taiidani, especially the Taiidani Republic, in Homeworld 2 so I decided to make a ship for them. Since HW2 is set 100 years after the first I think by that time designs from the Republic and Imperial Taiidan would diverge significantly from each other with the Imperials maintaining a more traditional look and the Republic going for something less aggressive/more technological advanced look.

Originally this was supposed to be a assault frigate but it ended up being too Kushan looking so I remade most of it and the whole thing grew until it was more of a destroyer than frigate so that in the end I had a destroyer and I'm still trying to make a assault frigate.









The smaller turrets on the middle are point defense turrets, the bigger ones are mass drivers and on the front of the ship are two ion cannons. Comments/tips/helpful criticisms are welcome.

I like it. Feels Taiidan, though with a few Kushan/Higaaran influences, probably very fitting for the Republic. I'm assuming those big ass holes up front are weaponry?

EDIT: I just realized I was looking at Ion Cannons. I REALLY need to reinstall Homeworld, I've forgotten way too much about these games.

Me likes. The taiidani feel isn't obvious at first, but the fact it's a 1 century later, republic design makes that large differences are ok with me. The kinetic turrets look cool .

I don't see any reason why this would have been locked, so I'm unlocking it. If it was locked by someone for a reason as opposed to some sort of mysterious accident, let them come forth with their reasoning...
