After looking around I came to learn that before summer of last year, one needed to load the mediavps with blueplanet.  Soulstorm wrote the Mac launcher to automatically add the mediavps line whenever you select blueplanet.  After the release of blueplanet2 last year, the mediavps were made to automatically run with blueplanet without the launcher telling it to.  The Mac launcher however doesn't know this so it still has the mediavps loading on top of blueplanet 1 and 2's mediavp line.
That's an important information, I think that this needs to be adressed in a FAQ, or else we'll be getting a lot more complaints like this.
Using WxLauncher (is this already stable?) should take care of the issue, so maybe redirecting people to it would help.

I'll be posting a lot more often to help out with the projects (I'm a career Maya artist),  after I get through all these sick mod campaigns.  :)
You're welcome. There are a lot of mods which could use a modeller, texturer and most often, both.

Hi, having the same issue as the OP, after rooting around looking at logs and following the path of this topic I found it was double including mod folders, but after fixing that it still seems to come up with the same error, even when I tried just running it from command line.

The exact error, FSO opens, loads the blue planet splash screen for a brief second, then crashes to desktop.

You have a leftover from an old install of AoA.
