It has been 12 years since the last Shivan sighting and the destruction of Capella. In that 12 years the GTVA has reconstructed almost their entire fleet.

But in this 12 years the refugees of the Second Great War also build up a force of their own. They have done this because they want to go beyond GTVA space to look for a new home. They have asked the help of the GTVA and they accepted to help.

2 Years later the exploration fleet is almost ready. A new exploration class ship has been constructed along with several new ships. The GTVA has made this a top priority and is optimistic about this exploration. Through this endeavor the GTVA may come to know more about Shivan space...

So... the GTVA needs more space, since they lost some after getting their asses pulverized by the Shivans, so they send their refugees out into Shivan space, and in the process open a connection between the Shivans and themselves?

It makes more sense than the plot of an action movie, less than a mediocre book. On a game scale, that's perfectly acceptable, so go ahead.

How do you plan to have them travelling? They'd need new nodes, or some other faster than light mode of travel.

Its a good idea, ive been wanting to make somesort of an exploration mini-campaign myself, but i havent been FRED-ing long and dont have much time at the moment (exams).  Gimme a month or so.


How would they need new nodes?  If you look at the nodemap then the systems beyond ross 128 arent inhabited i dont think, its never mentioned in the main campaign.  Personally i dont like the FS node map, since i used to play Frontier Ellite a lot, an its starmap was a good bit different.  Sirius and Vega were on opposite sides of sol, for example.

Anyway, if u do go ahead with the campaign, let me know it sounds intresting.
