Hey guys - back to duty
Hey folks,

first I wanna point out a huge thanks to the one who preserved my FSAR campaign/total conversion "try out". I didn't even remembered that one. So thank you very much...have a virtual cookie and beer on my cost.

The second thing, is, I maybe...and that's not definitely...want to return to my old work, if I can set up the 3.6.12 built without to much problems combined on FSAR. So to achieve that, I need some questions answered, or at least confirmed. Installing FSO is a very complicated process, though I gave myself a tutorial on this website, how to do it, I'm not completely aware if this tutorial is up to date with the newest 3.6.12 built. I left with the 3.6.8 (3.6.10 later) built made by Kajaroma, so please forgive me this thread, cause I'm probably able to figure that out by myself.

1. Is it correct that I need the 3.6.12 built here combined with this mediafiles?
2. Should I prefer to use the 3.6.10 or the 3.6.12. As I said, I maybe planning on modding the game again. I lean towards the 3.6.12 built, what do you think?
3. My mod was a total conversion, that introduced new ship names and designations etc...am I correct to hink that using the Inferno built isn't a good idea? Or do I miss anything when not using the Inferno built?
4. Why is the 3.6.12 stated as final, if there's a 3.6.13 built?
5. Can anyone grant me a download link to VP builder, ani viewer and ani builder? I can't seem to find thoose tools where I last found them. I'm quite sure I'm going to need theese tools again.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hey guys - back to duty
You should use 3.6.12. Under no circumstances should anyone use 3.6.10, it is outdated and awful.

You should use the Inferno build. There is no reason not to.

3.6.12 is the current official release. 3.6.13 is the development branch for 3.6.14.

Re: Hey guys - back to duty
The 3.6.12 build is marked as final to differentiate it from the 3.6.12 Release Candidate builds that came before. You should only use 3.6.12, 3.6.10 is, as we say, utter crap in comparison.
That does not mean (as you noted) that development stopped, it just means that the 3.6.12 build is the current standard build that released campaigns should be played with.
