Death to the foul headhunting Zods!
17:37:02   Quanto: I want to have sexual intercourse with every space elf in existence
17:37:11   SpardaSon21: even the males?
17:37:22   Quanto: its not gay if its an elf

[21:51] <@Droid803> I now realize
[21:51] <@Droid803> this will be SLIIIIIGHTLY awkward
[21:51] <@Droid803> as this rich psychic girl will now be tsundere for a loli.
[21:51] <@Droid803> OH WELLL.

See what you're missing in #WoD and #Fsquest?

[07:57:32] <Caiaphas> inspired by HerraTohtori i built a supermaneuverable plane in ksp
[07:57:43] <Caiaphas> i just killed my pilots with a high-g maneuver
[07:58:19] <Caiaphas> apparently people can't take 20 gees for 5 continuous seconds
[08:00:11] <Caiaphas> the plane however performed admirably, and only crashed because it no longer had any guidance systems

I disagree that Terrans 'didn't deserve' help against the Shivans, let's get serious that smacks of PETA 'humans are mean cruel people that kill puppies' mentality. However, I think the Zods are important valuable allies and they help maintain the strength of the GTVA. When the Terrans eventually get their house in order (when the Sol gate opens? Or just general recovery - things WILL stabalize) we'll be equal partners rather then dragging on the alliance - and for those who point to the Zods holding up the alliance I'll remind you of the way the GTA sheltered and helped the Vasudans, assisting their resettlement after the eradication of Vasuda Prime. Tables turn quickly.

Once again though, all things considered, we would certainly NOT be better off without them... but they would not be better off without us.

Last time I checked, the Terrans were too busy trying to save own their home system, and then waging civil war, to help the Zods much.

*aehm* While i stress that they have the same basic rights as humans ,to answer the questions in the poll: I don't think that bi-racial nation is good. If they remained two different "countries", it would be much better - NTF wouldnt have been created (or at least not for the fake reason it was), and i think that it would have positive impact on trade as well. • Oceans rise. Empires fall.
One of my fiction pieces lying around says:
"... the Vasudans and Terrans can play their games of chess or whatever on eye level because we are sitting on the same table. But the Shivans aren't even in the room with us, not even in the same building, the same planet or even same universe...."

So more love for our antropomorphized alien friends - they make a good plot device!

I distinctly remember flying around a three jump node nexus protecting Vasudan evac transports as well as Terran/Vasudan reinforcements heading to Vasuda. I also remember the Galatea dying while protecting the Deneb - Vasuda Jump node. If we had just buggered off and helped only ourselves after the fall of Vasuda then the Vasudans would not have survived.

We covered em in their immediate retreat, yeah. Afterwards, we pretty much let them rot there when it become obvious that the Lucy was heading toward Sol. And again, while we were busy waging puny civil wars, the Zods were busy having an incredibly swift economical rebirth.

Zods are awesome. Many reasons why we owe everything to them. The dualism in fighting the Shivans with the Zods is awesome too.
I'm all about getting the most out of games, so whenever I discover something very strange or push the limits, I upload them here:

I like any story with human alien interaction that doesn't solely involve weapons fire.  Especially when the aliens are more different than "rubber foreheads" and whatnot.  So I voted Nay.

It wasn't solely weapon fire, if you'd do some research as to the cause of the TVW you'd know why.

Quote
An ill-fated coup d'etat, orchestrated by the rogue intelligence branch of the GTA, marked the beginning of post-war factional politics. With its economy in ruins and political structures in turmoil, the Galactic Terran Alliance disintegrated into semi-autonomous regional blocs, each with its own agenda. The major entities included the Adhara Coalition, the Antares Federation, the Regulus Syndicate, and the Luyten New Alliance.

semi-autonomous means not (necessarily) waging civil war

My thought as well. I thought of semi-autonomous like the states of America. Well, more autonomous than that but still peaceful. Douchebaggery probably present.

I thought they'd probably protectionist and there'd be lots of trade tariffs and quotas, mostly because each of the blocs would be working for the interests of its own people. Then the GTVA comes along and at first it's like a trade organization (like the EU) but eventually it becomes the actual government (like a federation) with the signing of BETAC.
