So, anybody else seen it so far? Saw it in IMAX after a friend demanded I come with him, and actually quite enjoyed it. It's a damn good summer movie, and I had only one real complaint with it that was actually forgivable, by at least as Hollywood films go. Plus the moral of the story was funny, IMO.

As an aside, I thought the Alien was particularly well done. It was a tad reminiscent of the Cloverfield Monster at first, but after the Reveal I came to realize that as movie monsters go it was actually quite unique.

What the hotel? Sure, I used to live in one.

Why would you name a movie Super 8?

It's sort of got a nostalgia thing going and it references old Super 8 cameras.

What Batutta said. The Movie takes place in the 70's, and apparently if you grew up in that decade the movie is a massive nostalgia trip. The rest of us just went for the monster flick portion, and it more that holds up on that alone.

I see, I see. Super 8, Motel 6... I get confused.

It's an okay movie that gets a little silly in the third act but has good leads.
