Hi all, been peeking around here for a while and I've tried to make a few of my own single missions in FRED2. I have met with good success, except for the fact that neither FRED2 not Freespace itself will play my recorded .wav files. The briefing and message editors will both load them in the sounds list, however, when I click on the "Play" arrow, nothing happens. The same goes for in game, as though it thinks the sound files are empty. The built in .wav files (Wingmate comms) work fine and I can use them freely.
The files I attempted to load in the briefing editor are in both freespace2/data/voice/briefing and its respective location in the mediaVPs folder. The chatter files are similarly in /data/voice/special. They work absolutely fine when loaded in Media player. The files are .wav, PCM 44.100 kHz, 16 bit, Mono. Do I need to use a more specific type of .wav, or is it something else entirely?
These files were obtained from both the Sound Recorder and converted from on line MP3 files I created.
I wouldn't have usually created a new topic for something like this, but after half an hour of searching, none of the normal solutions have fixed this problem.
