"was informed by a psychologist that black people had a higher rate of violent behaviour, a statement used by the prosecution as its key argument against giving him an alternative penalty of life imprisonment."

Wait... what?
This quite simply is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. More and more, I think the South is getting less intelligent by the day

I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually true, but completely ignores the sociological reasons behind it.

Are these guys for real? Anyone who has ever had the briefest contact with formal logic could tear that whole statement apart simply by saying "correlation does not imply causation".

This isn't even insane troll logic because it tries to make sense. It's just a case of Cum Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc and these people should be ashamed of ever being let anywhere near a witness' stand, prosecution's office, jury box or the judge's seat.

Depending on whether the defense tried to object to this "reasoning" or not I might have to extend the same reprehension to that part of this travesty as well.

I don't understand why the prosecution even bothered with those kind of shenanigans. It looks like they had everything they needed for a life conviction. They must really like killing people in Texas.
Did you hear that fellas? She says I have a Meritorious Unit.

if they are racist you would think they would want to keep him out of prison, he kills more black people that way.

It's Texas people, the state that executes mentally retarded people.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

+1 internets, sir. Enjoy.

Rick Perry is completely bat**** insane. The Republican party has totally gone off its rocker if they think this is the guy that should represent them.

im still kinda for capitol punishment, on the grounds that life in an american prison is cruel and unusual punishment, at least less so than the gallows.
I can no longer sit back and allow communist infiltration, communist indoctrination, communist subversion, and the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
