didn't see a specific Derelict thread so figured this would be safest place to leave comment.

been playing Derelict for a while so I go into choose mod and select Derelict, so I get the campaign but the visuals are old style.

the campaign runs great but no visuals, on the front page of the launcher I click on the browse link and it just wants to keep opening folders until I get to "nothing here" so I left the option on fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF because any other choice like "mediavps" keeps opening the folders beyond until nothing.

going into video settings and the game is locked in Open GL.

You have to edit the mod.ini in the Derelict folder so that it accesses mediavps_3612. When I used the installer it didn't give me the old mediavps so when I played Derelict it was just the retail graphics. If you use the mediavps_3612 there will be a couple of problems but I was able to play through it ok.

thx, fixed it, the end credits looked great..... wish I'd asked earlier.

might replay the whole thing again not sure.
