my own results;

Your result for Enthusiasm
ENTHUSIASM FOR MUSIC
31%
Your Enthusiasm score is: LOW
You scored higher than 31% of the population

Your ‘Enthusiasm for Music’ score shows how important music is to you in your daily life. It also indicates how much time and money you devote to music.

You scored low for enthusiasm, which suggests that music isn’t particularly important to you. You probably spend less time than most people just listening to music or having music on in the background while you do other things.

It’s likely that you do listen to music occasionally, but it’s not one of your favourite activities. This indicates that you spend less than the average amount of your free-time or money on music-related activities, and rarely talk, write or read about it.
(*This one and the curiosity one for me are a bit off because I either mis-interperated some of their questions or something...)

Your result for Musical Perception
MUSICAL PERCEPTION
76%
Your Musical Ability score is: HIGH
You scored higher than 76% of the population

This is perhaps the most traditional measure of musical skill and indicates how well you understand the qualities of music, such as rhythm, pitch, tuning and genre.

You scored high for perception, which suggests that you have a good ear for music. You can probably sing in tune and are better than average at keeping a beat. You can also tell the difference between types of instruments and musical genres. People with high ability are often able to create music on their own or with others. You are likely to have performed well in the other musical tests.

Your result for Emotional Connection
EMOTIONAL CONNECTION
76%
Your Emotional Connection score is: HIGH
You scored higher than 76% of the population

This looks at how music affects your moods and feelings.

You scored high for emotional connection, which indicates that music can strongly influence your feelings and that you may even use it to manage your mood. It’s likely that you also find music a powerful tool for reconnecting with past events and memories. Your results suggest you connect more deeply with music than most people, with some songs having the power to completely change your emotional state.

Your result for Social Creativity
SOCIAL CREATIVITY
26%
Your Creativity and Participation score is: LOW
You scored higher than 26% of the population

This looks at creating music and sharing in group activities where music is involved.

You scored low for Social creativity, which suggests that you find it difficult to remember melodies and may not be able to recall new songs or musical phrases easily. This may mean you lack the confidence to contribute to group activities where music is involved, and are not comfortable joining in by singing or clapping along with others. You probably find it very challenging to imagine new melodies in your head.

Your result for Musical Curiosity
MUSICAL CURIOSITY
29%
Your Musical Curiosity score is: LOW
You scored higher than 29% of the population

This assesses how open you are to new musical genres and experiences.

You scored low for music curiosity, which suggests that you aren’t really open to exploring new music, and prefer to listen to the genres and artists you are already familiar with. As a result, you are likely to be exposed to a limited range of musical styles and have a more focused range of musical taste than the average person. You probably wouldn’t ever attend an event just to experience live music, but may enjoy going to see familiar artists perform.

According to a recent study, most people can identify which genre a piece of music belongs to from tiny snippets less than half a second long. ’Group the music’ tests how good you are at taking the limited but significant information from each short clip - such as the sound of the instruments, the production style and the music itself,- and using that to group similar clips together. The four genres tested were Rock, Pop, Jazz and Hip Hop.

The graphic above shows where you placed the clips - to score highly you will have placed clips of the same genre together in the same group. People who score high on this test are able to determine which genre a clip belongs to even when the differences are quite subtle. For example, some of the ‘Hip Hop’ and ‘Pop’ clips use similar sounding beats, which can make them hard to tell apart. People who score lower find it harder to process the limited information available in such short clips, sometimes even when the differences between the clips are quite pronounced.

Needless to say I got most of the rest (which you can't copy paste :<) correct which netted my 70+% after that fairly dismal one above :p

This and match the beat really brought my score down, as I have a rather good score on the other two, especially melody memory 11/12.

Re: Test your musical talent!
I got the "high" rating in all categories except for Musical Curiosity.  Probably because it's very rare that I have epiphanies about genres outside of what I'm used to.

86% in enthusiasm
99% in perception
89% in emotional connection
80% in social creativity
38% in curiosity

Group the music was all over the damn place, I kept confusing rock and pop in certain places.  Jazz and hip-hop were pretty much spot on.
Accidentally hit "skip" on match the beat.
Scored mostly medium on the beat accuracy, but with 4 highs in there.  Probably has something to do with feeling the beat in 2/4 rather than 4/4 in certain songs (an easy mistake with pop, rock, or some flavors of jazz).
8/12 correct in melody memory.

12 years of piano, 8 years of violin, 1 year of voice, and 2 years of guitar helps.

Yep, the "connect the music" was hardest. I am NOT good at listening to hip hop, modern rock, pop or whatever music relies heavily on synthesized sound effects trash (forgive my language, but I don't like said SFX).

Re: Test your musical talent!
Synths (including sample-based synths) are totally ubiquitous in music production and have been for a long long time.  They often appear in roles where they are indistinguishable from the "real" instruments that we are all accustomed to, and they can make things sound a lot better.  Considering the amount of processing that goes into a typical recording (especially in a genre like rock), it's pretty hard to single out synths as being inauthentic.  As with any instrument, if you abuse their timbre or use them to play crappy material, you will fail, but it isn't gonna be the synth's fault :)
