Crash after start, fresh install
Hi,

I've got the latest FSO, loader 5.5, copied all mof files to Blueplanet folder as described. Yes, I've created a new pilot. The mod will be loaded, but a crash appears after the intro video:

It's FSO on GOGs download as a base install which is on Win7x64. I have installed all that stuff to c:\users\me\programs\ in order to have no UAC virtualisation (though I must say it works fine on Win7).

Searching root 'C:\Users\Michel\Programme\Freespace\mediavps_3612\' ... 0 filesI find your lack of MVPs disturbing. They're required for BP - and most mods out there. If you remember installing them, make sure they're in the mediavps_3612 folder - folder names are important.

Also, as an unrelated note, it is generally ill-advised to have long directory paths to your FS install. 'C:\Users\Michel\Programme\' isn't that long, but better not take chances. 'C:\Games' is a generally recommended path.
People are stupid, therefore anything popular is at best suspicious.

Yes, you definitely need the mvps installed as per the MediaVPs install instructions.

Well I wanted to avoid Spaces, but wasn't 8.3 thinking. BTW: fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF_SSE2.exe  :)

Anyway, it now works, thanks guys.

I have also a problem with BP2.

After installing all required files it doesn't run. I have made an log file.

Can somebody help?

You need all the blueplanet AoA files in C:\Games\FreeSpace2\blueplanet in order to play BP2/WiH (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=68213.0)

Also, this seems a little odd (C:\Games\FreeSpace2\blueplanet2.1\blueplanet2), I don't know what the effects are of having the blueplanet2 directory inside another directory, perhaps change this all the blueplanet2 files are in C:\Games\FreeSpace2\blueplanet2 and update the -mod line in the launcher to be: -mod blueplanet2,blueplanet,mediavps_3612
