Hey there,
I have a question regarding different programs, I hope it's ok to post here, even though it's not really freespace modelling related

I'm still modelling with Truespace 5. Strange, but trust me, it's still possible

However, exporting the models around can become quite an adventure. For example :
In order to preserve Texture coordinates (which truespace somehow flipps in X,Y values) I have to load the cob into PCS; export to Pof, and then re-export the pof-file into a cob. So I use PCS to save the texture coordinates correctly (though I have the problem that PCS smoothes everything.....
Then I use 3D Explorer to export to other programs....
Now, here are my questions/problems :
I need to create *.ase files. Unfortunately, 3d explorer is not giving me this option.
Does Blender (it's for free, right ? ) or any other free to use tool do it ? If so, what import file do I need for blender ?
I once did it over 3ds Max, but you know it's hard to come by, if you do not want to spent a few thousends bucks. Also I found 3ds very hard to understand, the menu is a nightmare for starters. Technically somewhere i have a free version of gmax lying around which has been released years ago, but afaik export/import and texture work is blocked there. Any ideas which way I could go ?
Second question :
Is there a way to prevent that PCS messes up the smoothing when converting back from pof to cob ?
