I get around 10 errors when trying to run BP2.  It's able to open but upon starting the missions a few more pop out and it gives a 'failed to load mission' and goes back to the menu. I tried to run it in debug mode but that just crashes the game. BP1 works fine though!

From the logs, you're trying to use FSOpen 3.6.12. War in Heaven does NOT work with FSOpen 3.6.12 Final (only Age of Aquarius does), you need a 3.6.13 build or a 3.6.14 Release Candidate (you can find 3.6.14 RC9 here).
