Re: Autobot or Decepticon?
That's nice, but he doesn't show it actually drive as a car, suggesting it can barely move as a car. I would have liked to see the car placed on the ground and driven around.

It's probably not supposed to be a transformer of the actual series, but the colour scheme and bulky appearance would probably make it a Decepticon if it was one.

£16,000? Better to buy a real car I would think.

If I were younger, I'd be wanting this as a Xmas present. :) He did show it drive around a little bit at the start of the movie, so it seems it can move like any other RC car.

Re: Autobot or Decepticon?
i saw a pair of continuous rotation servos driving the rear wheels. so i doubt it will be breaking any speed records. it could have just used a pair of brushless motors if it wanted more speed, but i figure without a decent suspension it would destroy itself in no time.

Re: Autobot or Decepticon?
Related: One article in the ASEE newsletter (that I somehow got a subscription for...?) mentioned that researches had managed to develop a snake-like robot that could reconfigure itself in a number of shapes such as an inch-worm, a butterfly, and a toy-car. I don't remember if the 'bot was actually snake-like or if it was made up of a number of segments that could be rearranged like Vectorman (for lack of a better example).

Doesn't seem particularly ambulatory in robot form or very adept in driving mode, but still...

I actually thought the music brought the child in me out. I felt like I was 8 when I watched the thing.  :)
