I just realized, once a Fedayeen you share all of your memories, and by Kovacs comments on it, even deep ones. Does that mean everyone knows about Laporte's Simms fantasies?

What's more since, Al-Da'wa is a Shivan, does that mean Ken knows too? How embarrassing that would be. :shaking:

This question just hit me while I opened the fridge.

I am tired too.

The ending of universal truth should make this pretty obvious. Also, not sure why you call their relationship a "fantasy".
People are stupid, therefore anything popular is at best suspicious.

He doesn't mean their relationship.  He means the associated fantasies.

p. sure the fedayeen don't really care about each other's erotic fantasies
The good Christian should beware of mathematicians, and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of Hell.

I'm not so sure you can make this generalization.

I'm not so sure you can make this generalization.

Laporte's wingmates include a serial killer and a berserker. Half the Fedayeen is in a part-time gestalt networked through a dead Shivan. Laporte herself has had an apatic anima ****ing around in her head since childhood. The fact that she had the hots for her commanding officer is far too boring to be a big deal.

There's something to be said about what happens when erotic fantasies are shared between individuals who otherwise are sufficiently wise to keep them from the community. Not really my cup of tea of curiosity on "Al Dawa" matters, but hey, I guess it's a fair question. If individuals are able to "process" other people's psyches, then this part is really not something that should bother them.

The Fedayeen clearly consider Laporte badly damaged after the events of 'Delenda Est'. It's interesting that their first step after physical recovery is to slam her into the dreamscape.

Kovacs, Falconer, and Vidaura* each provide a component of a 'healthy', 'functional' personality - by Fedayeen standards, at least. It seems like Falcata, and perhaps Fedayeen wings or cells in general, are structured to distribute psychological stress and mutually reinforce the type of personality the Fedayeen needs in its operators.

*(it's hard to note, but the presence of the other Fedayeen pilot Ged is meant to suggest that the Fedayeen take on names from fiction)

So did Laporte have a Fedayeen name? And what's her new 3fleet name, come to think of it?
The good Christian should beware of mathematicians, and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of Hell.

Laporte flirted with Simms on the radio. Regulations aside, I don't think she'd have a problem with anyone knowing.

To be fair, when she did, it was before it was a problem with the regulations (because they weren't in the same chain of command). On the other hand, I doubt anyone would be surprised to know that her feelings didn't magically go away the instant she was assigned to the Wargods, and now they aren't even in the same chain of command anymore.

<MageKing17> "There's probably a reason the code is the way it is" is a very dangerous line of thought. :P
<MageKing17> Because the "reason" often turns out to be "nobody noticed it was wrong".
(the very next day)
<MageKing17> this ****ing code did it to me again
