Are the fiction viewer and movie cutscenes supposed to work in multiplayer campaigns? I have seen them work on the server side, but not the client. Thanks.

Doubtful.  I'm pretty sure multiplayer support was never added for cutscenes, because the designers didn't expect that four remotely connected people would want to download a giant movie file and then watch it.  Likewise, I never added multiplayer support for fiction viewers, unofficially because I was lazy, but officially because everybody reads at a different pace, and it would be a pain to sync up a multiplayer game when you're waiting five or ten minutes for everybody to finish reading.
