Just a few thoughts under discussion that might happen by around 2100?

Something all these FTL drive talks always seem to ignore is that we have no idea what will happen to the crew once the ship warps off. I am certain going faster than light speed was not a condition humans were meant to endure.

???

humans are subject to the same laws as any other matter, you can predict the rough effects on them pretty easily
The good Christian should beware of mathematicians, and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of Hell.

And the idea behind a warp drive is that you don't travel faster than light.... locally. :nervous:

This is happening in TEXAS?

The spaceship is gonna be powered by moonshine!

It will be powered by forsaken logic, actually.

Fine. I shall rephrase. This spaceship is gonna be powered by buckshot!

Re: Warp drives, robotic antimatter farms on Mercury and laser-beam highways
What a bad article.

So what's actually happening is that there's a conference going on that's looking at long-term proposals and concepts for interplanetary or interstellar travel. No new, revolutionary physics discoveries or so will be revealed.

That the article doesn't even tell you what this conference is (the Icarus Interstellar Starship Congress) is just sad.

This is brilliant. I love how he feels the need to say "do not try this at home."
