How the Main Campaign Plays with 3.7
Hey guys, I haven't played the main FS2 campaign I in five years. I want to again. But I remember the last time I played there were a few quirks that popped up when I played using whatever version of FSOpen I was using at the time. Stuff like, say, the Shivans fighters just wandering around by the Knossos not doing anything instead of attacking you in A Flaming Sword (the one right before Bearbaiting). Has there been any effort to check for FSOpen glitching up the campaign?

Also, I remembered I had to download a improved version of Our Finest Hour put out by some modder (where the Colossus isn't disabled the entire mission and your supporting capital ships have their beams freed). Does the 3.6.12 version of that mission still preserve the brokenness of the original?
Words ought to be a little wild, for they are the assaults of thoughts on the unthinking.

Re: How the Main Campaign Plays with 3.7
The MediaVPs by design do not alter the gameplay of the missions, so TFH remains as it was in retail. If the MVPs ever change that policy, TFH would probably be one of the first to get a touch-up.

The campaigns are playtested on a volunteer basis, as everything in the community. If you're worried about bugs, probably the absolutely best thing you could do is give the campaign a play on 3.7.0 and note down anything you see going wrong.

In the MediaVPs 2014, Their Finest Hour does receive the small change that the beam-free-all on the allied fleet now works correctly.  But that's really a bugfix, even though it does alter gameplay a little.

A Flaming Sword was a very brittle mission even in retail.  It has been modified in MediaVPs 2014 to hopefully be more robust.

That was by design, your mission objective in the first instance is to draw them to the Sobek to prevent them wasting the Triton, the Astaroths are there to demonstrate the power of the Meson bomb as wipes them out.

No, he is describing a legitimate mission bug.  The Dragons are the ones wiped out by the bomb.

I'm pretty sure you need to engage them in order to get them drawn over to your corvette.
