Ok guys I want to run Freespace on Linux, but until I get real good at Linux I have reinstalled Windows XP just so I can play, problem is I installed FS2 from my GOG disk and it runs, but all the little info boxes flicker real fast, could that be because I installed Freespace before Freespace 2?

Doubt it. Are you using FreeSpace Open? If not, you should try it; if yes, Please post your fs2_open.log file.  Instructions on how to do this can be found in this post.

Thanks, its been so long since I even installed Freespace I forgot what to do, and with everything I have gong on its not as easy to remember stuff as it used to be

i have had that before, on windows 7.  i don't think XP is the problem.  i'm pretty sure i was running FSO also.  i never really looked into it though, just let it happen since the only time it really affects me is on the 'are you sure you want to quit' box.

You installed FS1 and FS2 to different directories right?

I don't think I did, here's the install procedures I used, I placed the Freespace 1 disk that I bought from Wal Mart so long ago in the cd drive, and installed it, then I placed my GOG disk with Freespace 2 in the drive and installed it. Haven't tried anything else in cas eI messed up
