Dumbing down graphics in FSport-mvps
Hey Guys...

           Im a noob to port and ive got a Q...   im starting over at FS1 under FSport-mediavps (3.6.18) cause of the low res cockpit, and im thinking my machine would push it because things were pretty smooth in plain FS port. But in FSport-mvps even running 100+ fps it still gags for ram and freezes 10+- minutes into a mission...im bottomed out the nvid settings offboard and bottomed the vid in the launcher also, but no-joy...  theres got to be some settings or deletions i can make to give me the ram i need to finish. ive run the ram screen usage settings- but im not sure if i can kill anything and still run the program. Thanks ahead for any tips...

Just a little tip: you can use the [ code] [ /code] BBCode tags (without the spaces) to enclose large amounts of text in a scrollbox, so it doesn't make the whole page stretch vertically.  I edited your post to do that. :)

Thanks...  i hate to be a diehard...but ive played 1+2 years ago and the new open graphics with the cockpit really kick the lamas @$$...

In the troubleshooting menu, you will also find an option labelled "Disable GLSL (Shader) support". Your GPU only supports OpenGL 2.1, our shader support however relies on capabilities found in OpenGL 3 and higher. In addition, I would recommend that you set the colour depth in the Launcher to 32 bits. You're currently running it in 16-bit mode, which may not be entirely stable.

Well i wanted to monitor my open download so i went with 3612 instead of the all in one installer--- so now im really confused---wheres my FSport...and FSport-mvps so i can play FS1 from the start... all i have is FS2 as an option and no FSport-mvps for a low-res cockpit i was using----  if i have to re-DL everything - im game... i just want to get it correct and then trouble shoot it---Thanks all in advance

Thanks to all who helped me out here... i ended up using the old installer---and what it chocked on , i added... it looks sweet (including the teets cockpit) but is still not fully tested, but it feels stable...i cant wait to play through a few long missions and see how my ram does... im crossin me fingers mates... updates in the am... thanks again

Update: 25 minuite mission w 80-120 fps...yeeehawww--- now that im learning more and more about Open i will probably hand-load a second install exactly to my specs and see how it goes...awesome

Update2: And all the way through act1 of fs1 with just one freeze...not to shabby... :D
