So I know next to nothing about this project aside from the trailer.

However, I would rather like to know more.

Interesting is the right word. Seems also that the visual style isn't completely fleshed out as well. The terror bit at the end is also interesting, but needs a bit of style tweaking. I didn't really feel it.

If the characters in the bridge can sell themselves as alive and you are driven to care for them, I can see a big potential here. Someone screaming for a captain in a destroyed ship, "Adam, ahh ****... !", the crew ranging between calm, controlled, excited or in panic, terror, hyperventilating, "calm the **** down, lieu-tenant!", etc.

Otherwise, it doesn't work. It's cold and meaningless. So what if you're in the bridge? It's a worse UI than Homeworld that's for sure!

Exactly, if this thing can sell the atmosphere of being on a bridge with other human beings, that would be super cool.

And if they add multiplayer, well, that would be even cooler (but they've already said that that isn't a priority for development right now)

Yar, I was expecting the enemies everywhere to be followed by a traitor on the bridge..

Interesting indeed... Though I hope there are more interfaces than just that command table there. Liiiiike, if you could stand at the window and just click on a ship and say, "That one there. Kill it with explosions." And then hear the crew and other captains over comms be all, "yes sir, firing explosions."

What kind of idiot puts their CIC/bridge in a big glass dome right on top of the ship like it's got a big bull's eye saying "shoot here for lulz"...

Oh.  Right.

schrödinbug (noun) - a bug that manifests itself in running software after a programmer notices that the code should never have worked in the first place.

<MageKing17> "There's probably a reason the code is the way it is" is a very dangerous line of thought. :P
<MageKing17> Because the "reason" often turns out to be "nobody noticed it was wrong".
(the very next day)
<MageKing17> this ****ing code did it to me again
<MageKing17> "That doesn't really make sense to me, but I'll assume it was being done for a reason."

<MageKing17> ESPECIALLY ME

<MageKing17> God damn, I do not understand how this is breaking.
<MageKing17> Everything points to "this should work fine", and yet it's clearly not working.
<MjnMixael> 2 hours later... "God damn, how did this ever work at all?!"
(...)
<MageKing17> so
<MageKing17> more than two hours
<MageKing17> but once again we have reached the inevitable conclusion
<MageKing17> How did this code ever work in the first place!?

<@The_E> Welcome to OpenGL, where standards compliance is optional, and error reporting inconsistent

<MageKing17> It was all working perfectly until I actually tried it on an actual mission.
