So Dark Horizons is reporting that "Firefly" and "Castle" star Nathan Fillion will make a cameo in Marvel's "The Guardians Of The Galaxy" this summer.
An earlier story speculated that he could be in the post-credit "stinger" as a character called "Nova" (see the story for a more detailed explanation). However,
in a story just posed today writer/director James Gunn both confirmed he will be making a cameo, but categorically denied the Nova Stinger speculation. He did describe Fillion's cameo as "very small" and "fun".
So here's the speculation: what capacity will he cameo in? Given Joss Whedon's involvement with much of the new Marvel lineup, it occurs to me that he might cameo as something akin to his "Captain Renolds" character from "Firefly", as the main characters from "Guardians" are too somewhat of the ragged-edge outlaws as the crew from "Firefly". It wouldn't be the first time that Fillion has made a tong-in-cheek appearance in his Firefly costume... which was done on a "Castle" episode... for Halloween I believe.
