Hello. I haven't said anything in a long time (no doubt to the relief of some), but I'm going to say a few things.
"Breathtaking".
I can't come up with any other way at all to describe my reaction to seeing the latest SCP build with the 2014 MediaVP's. Just when I think things couldn't be improved further, you blow me away yet again. The richness of ship explosions, the beautiful light rendering on ships, rock solid performance, the list goes on and on.
I got a tiny little taste 2 years ago what goes into messing with an existing build when I tried to fix some of the bugs in "Sol: A History" and the Inferno build (which I ultimately got to work with 3612, I might add), but it was mind bending. Regretfully, some things turned out to be well beyond my level of expertise, like fixing the point of convergence on the Claymore Mk2 fighter's guns.
Anyone who thinks it is 'easy' to edit a ship, or build one from scratch, either already knows how to do it flawlessly or has grossly underestimated it. I have a much stronger appreciation for the effort involved now.
That a game released in 1999 continues to look so fresh and new is a testament not just to the original game, but to the dedicated efforts of all you programmers, designers, modelers, editors.
