Any Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino USers out there?
I'm thinking of retiring my Hotas Cougar after  15 years of mostly loyal service, and I was looking at the Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino hotas as a replacement.

Does anyone out there have one?  Do you like it?

I primarily only play FS2 based games anymore if that helps.

yeah just got mine yesterday. Bloody awesome is what i have to say about it, buttons galore and all the other juicy things, switches and buttons everywhere and it has 3 modes in total for different commands and actions, soild construction. But its up to you wither you want it as all im going to say if you can, its a buy you can not go wrong with.

Re: Any Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino USers out there?
I have one and use it with Elite Dangerous right now.

My thoughts thus far:

It's physically big and doesn't have anything in the way of adjustments like the x52 does

It's two separate devices on the USB bus (the stick and throttle need their own plug), so some programs that are expecting to see a single HOTAS might have problems using it.

It's apparently somewhat power hungry.  There are a lot of people out there who had dodgy behavior (ghost button presses, buttons that didn't stay pressed, etc) until they put it on a powered USB hub (this seemed to happen primarily with AMD systems).

The big shiny switches on the throttle base are 2-way momentary switches, they are not toggles.

The mouse 'nipple' thing on the throttle makes a really bad substitute for a physical mouse (IMO).

The software, while fairly powerful, isn't the easiest to work with.  When it works and the drivers are installed, it can do a heck of a lot.

It's very sensitive, almost too sensitive.  I had to increase the dead zone in E:D so the ship wouldn't start moving just by me resting my hand on the stick.

But even with these things, I don't regret buying mine, at least not yet.  ;)

POSIX is fine, as is Rev or RP
