I was just reading several articles on New Scientist and while I was reading one article, it somehow made me think of the following.

Perhaps in the FreeSpace universe, the actual universe is just one living creature or even cell of a larger being or machine. Life is a virus that the Shivans (the 'white-blood-cells' of the universe) are trying to destroy. Just a thought.

But there are some really good articles on the site. Such as:

Personally, I think the closest thing that we will see to space war in our lifetimes will all be underwater - think SeaQuest.

I guess we could have high-atmosphere combat, and nuclear weapon interception and the like. It depends how many space-based military satellites you think the US and Russia have, or do not have.

we all thought that one day or another, but this idea has been so overused in scifi I hope that's not what were thinking about...

The shielding for tanks, has already been successfully tested by the MoD, they put it on a APC and it took multiple hits with a RPG, and then they drove it off. I made a thread about it.

You've never met my friends, have you?

But think about it: over the course of history, untold billions of people must have lived. There are only so many thoughts, just as there are only so many names. And unlike names, you can have as many (or as few ) thoughts as you want.

Well, there are almost definitely an infinite number of possible thoughts, so there will always be un-thought thoughts left in any finite period of time.
